J.S. Bach: Christmas Oratorio

No Christmas without the Christmas Oratorio! With a view to the Dramaturgie and the musical context, the vokalensemble NovoCanto and the Tyrolean Baroque Instrumentalists link the cantatas I-III from Bach's masterpiece with the entrance chorus from his Magnificat and the Floria in excelsis Deo from the Mass in B minor. Conductor Wolfgang Kostner has invited young, local voices of international stature in the form of Vanessa Waldhart and Matthias Hoffmann, and completes the quartet with the exceptional German tenor Markus Schäfer and the celebrated contralto Susanne Langner.
