Lindy Quest VII - Swingtanz Workshops

This year, for the seventh edition of the Lindy Quest, the Swingout Innsbruck association invites the two internationally renowned coaches Adam Brozowski (US) and Máté Csike (HU) - currently the only pair of openly queer coaches* (of all genders) in the swing scene - to Innsbruck for a workshop weekend. Both enrich a traditionally heterocentric dance form with a unique style and queer voice, and have been working on and off the dance floor to create space and visibility for LGBTQIA+ individuals in Lindy Hop and Swing Dance since they started together in 2017. Their classes deconstruct the original power dynamic of leading and following in couple dances to create an even more fluid type of dance.
On the course days Saturday and Sunday, four one-hour class sessions each followed by training sessions will intensively teach and practice new dance content with a special focus on breaking down stereotypical and heteronormative role models as described.
