The tongue-in-cheek 'scientific' sounding title of the exhibition on the occasion of Maurizio Bonato's 70th birthday on the one hand depicts well the artist's engagement with the inexplicably magical, on the other hand it can also be interpreted as an apt description of his working method. Like an explorer, Bonato devotes himself to searching for, revealing, and noting sensual moments of another reality - the magic of the moment when pausing and grasping a moment. In the current series of paintings, the artist deals with the fragility of being and all its manifestations. Beauty lies for him in the fragility of the event - in the 'dirt' of the moment, in the fragmentary and contradictory, and perhaps also in the suffering of the process of discovery. The showable, smooth and finished, separated from any process of creation, does not correspond to the goal of his artistic search. In the exhibition we show works of the current series, small and medium format works on paper, as well as large formats on Folarex.
