Slow Days in the Fortunate Isle

In her solo exhibition Slow Days in the Fortunate Isle at the Neue Galerie, Moroccan photographer and visual storyteller Imane Djamil tells a story of two places - Tarfaya and Fuerteventura - her favorite and her least favorite place. Less than 60 miles apart, the two places are emotionally inextricably intertwined,
not least because of their often tragic migratory relationships. The exhibition is not about the complexity of international relationships, but rather an essay on how one feels in the midst of these relationships. Slow Days in the Fortunate Isle is part of the annual program The Resistance of Nothingness curated by Bettina Siegele.
