Weltacker Innsbruck - "Harvest & Work"

CALENDAR OF EVENTS Weltacker Innsbruck
Soil connects us - after all, it is the basis for life.
This calendar of events throughout the year is intended to show connections between our living environment and this basis and its products - why they are important, why change is sometimes necessary and what you as a private person have to do with them.
The Weltacker concept depicts the current state of global agriculture and, as an open educational space, forms the basis for these connections.
Initiatives and institutions come to this open educational space in a coordinated manner throughout the year as part of the calendar of events and help to delve deeper into these topics and find starting points for change.

THEMATIC BLOCK HARVEST & WORK

-Photo exhibition "Bitter Oranges"

In addition to photographs and interviews, the workers themselves used digital cameras to document their lives, which are characterized by poverty and exclusion, but also by mutual support and cohesion.

-Workshop: "The history of the food system of an island in Chile", 15:00-16:00
The arrival of the salmon industry about 40 years ago has changed the food system of the Chilean island "Chiloé" considerably. Together we will work out who is responsible for this and what dependencies have arisen as a result.
We will also look at the extent to which this has changed the value of food for the local population and for us.
Conducted by Mirjam Kirschner, BSc.
(free of charge, without registration, Weltacker Innsbruck, outdoor, takes place in all weathers)
