47. Innsbruck Festival of Early Music

The 47th Innsbruck Festival of Early Music will take place in the unique setting of the Tyrolean capital from July 11 to August 29, 2023. The Innsbruck Festival of Early Music is among the most renowned festivals of baroque music in Europe and has been a magnet for visitors from all over the world since 1976. The broad and colourful programme includes staged opera performances, various concerts, free open-air events and workshops for children and adults.

Highlights this summer will be three staged opera productions by Antonio Vivaldi: "Olimpiade, "Juditha triumphans" and, as Barockoper:Jung, "La fida ninfa". It is the last Festival season of the current Artistic Director Alessandro De Marchi, who will be at the conductor's podium for both the opera "Olimpiade" and the scenic oratorio "Juditha triumphans". "Olimpiade" will be directed by Stefano Vizioli, who already thrilled in 2019 with the production of the opera "La Dori". The Barockoper:Jung "La fida ninfa" will be conducted by Chiara Cattani and feature the successful participants of last year's International Singing Competition for Baroque Oper “Pietro Antonio Cesti". In the meantime, the Cesti Competition, which was founded in 2010 by Alessandro De Marchi, has become one of the most important singing competitions in this field.


The complete programme of the 47th Innsbruck Festival of Early Music will be published on March 21, 2023. On March 22, 2023, from 9 a.m. the official ticket pre-sale starts at all known ticket agencies.
