"When it really rains here, it rains itself in ..." Where exactly? Of course: at Lake Wolfgangsee in the Salzkammergut, where the bustling landlady Josepha runs an illustrious hotel guesthouse. In the high season, this is where God and the world meet, factory owners from Berlin, beautiful Sigismunians, smart daughters from good families - and even the old Emperor Franz Joseph is said to have been seen. It goes without saying that a few love affairs go back and forth among the colorful crowd. But by the time all the couples have sorted themselves out according to their whims and even the waiter Leopold can be happy about his dismissal, things have gone haywire. As in any good operetta, there's only one thing to do: bring on the bubbly!
The Austrian singer, actress and director Ruth Brauer-Kvam makes her directorial debut at the Tiroler Landestheater with Ralph Benatzky's successful operetta from 1930 and has a brilliant ensemble of holiday-happy hotel guests dancing across the stage with plenty of imagination, verve and a good dose of humor. Whether it's a waltz, love song or polka, at best it's the ladies' choice! Ladies' choice!
