MADL - A Tyrolean evening

MADL* is a scenic exploration of girlhood and womanhood, female socialization, and conditioning in Tyrol. Based on interviews with Tyrolean women aged 19-85, we reveal, layer by layer, the stories and realities of life of three generations that have been inscribed in us. In a critically humorous collage of text, song, dance, and customs, a TIROLER*INNEN ABEND (Tyrolean Women's Evening) is created for the first time, depicting the ups and downs of becoming a woman in the “Holy Land.” The “in-between-ness,” between the mountains and the world, marked by inner contradiction and local attachment, becomes collectively experiential.
