125 years - Tram line 6

Line 6 was put into operation for the first time on 27 June 1900. Transport operator Innsbrucker Verkehrsbetriebe (IVB) is celebrating the anniversary with a great ride - and everyone is invited!
Line 6, also known as the Waldbahn, is celebrating its 125th anniversary and the IVB invites you to join in the celebrations - and take a ride. On Saturday, 28 June 2025, very special trips are on the agenda: the historic nostalgia tram will depart from the Bergisel stop at 10.15 am, 11.15 am, 12.15 pm, 3.15 pm and 4.15 pm in the direction of Igls. The return journey from Igls station is at 10.45 am, 11.45 am, 12.45 pm and 3.45 pm. The special trips on the nostalgia tram are free of charge, and all regular trips on line 6 between Bergisel and Igls are also free of charge on 28 June 2025.
Famous sports venues such as the ski jump or the Olympic ice channel, historic sites such as the Bergisel or the Renaissance Ambras Castle, mystical tree circles, grottos, moorland and kilometres of hiking and running trails - there is all this and more to discover along the 8.36-kilometre route.
