50 years of the 1976 Winter Olympics

On February 4, we celebrate the fantastic sporting spectacle that was the 1976 Winter Olympics – nostalgic and entertaining!
Tyrolean School Ski Race
Following the tradition of the former Tyrolean School Winter Games, the Tyrolean School Ski Race will be held in cooperation with the Educational Directorate for Tyrol and SC Patscherkofel. Teams from Tyrolean middle schools will showcase their skiing skills in a giant slalom on the historic slopes of Patscherkofel, competing for the best times.
The winners will be honored in a special award ceremony presented by ski legends.
1st run: 9.30 AM
2nd run: around 11.00 AM
Award ceremony: around 12.30 PM

Team Klammer vs. Team Russi
The famous duel of the 1976 Olympic Winter Games will be relived – this time in a slightly different format. The teams of the two legends, Franz Klammer and Bernhard Russi, will compete against each other in a giant slalom.

The day at Patscherkofel will be filled with nostalgia: in celebration of the anniversary, all-day passes for the Patscherkofel cable car will be available for just 5 Euro. This makes it easy to follow in the footsteps of Franz Klammer’s legendary Olympic downhill victory.
Visit the Olympia Lounge at the mountain station to travel back in time and then take on the legendary downhill course yourself.
