French composer Adrien Perruchon is appearing at the TSOI for the second time and will join the musicians in exploring the dazzling world of Rimsky-Korsakov'sScheherazade. The Symphonic Suite from The Thousand and One Nights, Op. 35, is inspired by a folk tale about a young woman named Scheherazade who must tell stories to stay alive. With enormously colorful orchestration, magnificent melodies with an oriental touch, and rousing rhythms, the composer created a fascinating and imaginative orchestral work.

Mélanie Boni's impressionistic pieces, influenced by Orientalism and dedicated to legendary women such as Salome and Ophelia, tie in with the pictorial language of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade . The exceptionally talented student of the famous French composer César Franck studied alongside Claude Debussy at the Paris Conservatory and was one of France's most respected composers in the period before the First World War.

Pablo de Sarasate's fiery, virtuosoCarmen Fantasy for solo violin and orchestra, with which the Spaniard amazed audiences at the time, leads to another famous female figure in opera literature. The young Brazilian Guido Sant'Anna, who has been thrilling the concert world with his mature playing and charisma, will be performing these acrobatic feats on the violin in Innsbruck. In the 2024/25 season, he made his debut at the Young Euro Classic Festival in the Konzerthaus Berlin and appeared as a soloist with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra at the Bregenz Festival, among others.
