The concert will be opened by the TSOI string section with Britten's Simple Symphony . The "Simple Symphony," a retrospective of Britten's own compositions from his childhood, unfolds into a multifaceted piece of music full of wit and sophistication. Renowned Tyrolean composer Johannes Maria Staud also takes a look back, in a manner of speaking, in Segue. However, the initially very familiar Mozart-esque sounds develop into something completely unique. Staud plays with expectations, forms, and timbres, creating music that fascinatingly combines the past and the present.
The work is interpreted by Valerie Fritz from Innsbruck. The young cellist, who is known for her love of experimentation, has already performed at festivals such as the Salzburg Festival and Klangspuren Schwaz in the past, and in the 25/26 season she will be heard as an ECHO Rising Star in Europe's most prestigious concert halls.
Finally, Mozart in its purest form provides a contrast! With his last symphony, the"Jupiter" Symphony —modern for its time and timeless in its effect—he once again achieved a stroke of genius.
An evening that not only brings together two Tyrolean talents, but also contrasts, revealing an exciting new perspective on the familiar.
