Works for choir a capella and organ by Anton Bruckner. The John Sheppard Ensemble Freiburg will perform under the direction of Bernhard Schmidt.

The Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, whose 200th birthday is being celebrated this year, is regarded today as one of the most important composers of the Romantic period. The John Sheppard Ensemble from Freiburg, which has already won several awards at the German Choir Competition, dedicates its concert programme "Anton Bruckner on his 200th birthday" to his sacred choral music. Well-known motets such as "Locus iste" and "Ave Maria" will be performed as well as some rarely sung sacred songs.
