Exhibition – Being in Between

Feelings arise between societies, countries, and cultures that are rarely noticed: the “in-between” status of many second-generation migrants. They do not feel that they belong clearly to Austrian society or to their families' country of origin. This is an experience that usually only those who have grown up in it themselves can truly understand.

The short exhibition of the same name, designed by Azra Dereköy, Emma Spitzer, and Hilal Teker as part of their final thesis at HTL Bau Informatik Design, makes this reality visible. The focus is on people who were born in Austria but grew up with a different cultural background. Through visual design, infographics, and visitor participation, the exhibition raises awareness of the silent conflicts of identity and belonging.
