Schindler's Café

An extraordinary story spanning two centuries, two world wars, and a family business.

The legendary Café Schindler returns to the stage of the Tiroler Landestheater in 2026! Founded in 1922, it quickly became the vibrant social hub of Innsbruck—until the Nazis arrived. It is a story of expropriation and expulsion, of the Holocaust in Tyrol. This deeply moving stage adaptation of a family history takes the audience on an emotional journey of discovery and brings the history of the Jewish people in the Habsburg Monarchy to life.

In cooperation with the Jewish Community of Tyrol and Vorarlberg, Tyrolean State Museum Ferdinandeum, City Archives / City Museum Innsbruck, Das Schindler
