CROSSROADS

CROSSROADS NUNZIO DE MARTINO | FLORIAN NÄHRER
Both artists have been permanently represented in the gallery program since 2020/21 and have already been presented in solo exhibitions. Now the gallery is showing works by the internationally renowned artists as a spatial dialog in a joint tandem exhibition.
Nunzio De Martino's art represents a departure from the classic pictorial idea. His works are not created with a paintbrush at an easel, but on canvas and paper using a sewing machine. Endless networks of lines and curves form complex structures that are often broken by (re)cutting.
Florian Nährer's artistic work is characterized by strong colours and informal geometric forms. By distorting the elements, however, he avoids any strict order and creates dynamically balanced pictorial surfaces that are sometimes reminiscent of luminous Gothic church windows.
