The Beautiful Miller's Daughter

Acting as a “bridge between classical music, folk music, jazz, and contemporary chamber music,” Franui, alongside her ideal partner in crime, Florian Boesch, is performing a complete song cycle for the first time: A young wanderer falls in love with the miller’s beautiful daughter, but must realize that the dashing hunter is preferred over him. Unlike in the original, in this interpretation the wanderer does not take his own life, but emerges from his suffering transformed.
