Fire, fire! Ensemble Kapsberger & Vocal Ensemble Vocappella

Founded by Norwegian lutenist and baroque guitarist Rolf Lislevand, Ensemble Kapsberger is one of the most renowned ensembles in the field of early music. With its lively and innovative performances of Renaissance and early Baroque works, the ensemble, which features lute, viola da gamba, baroque guitar, nickel harp, and percussion, regularly appears at renowned international early music festivals.

Under the title Fire, Fire, the Ensemble Kapsberger, together with the vocal ensemble Vocappella, presents instrumental dance music and madrigals that tell of love, farewell, joie de vivre, and eroticism. The concert evening takes us into the little-known musical world of the early modern period, spanning Austria and Germany, Italy and Spain, France and England. You can expect fiery rhythms, ancient melodies, and often adult lyrics full of joie de vivre and energy.
