Spring concert of the Bundesbahn-Musikkapelle Innsbruck

The Bundesbahn-Musikkapelle Innsbruck celebrates the start of the warm season and a musical year full of highlights with rousing sounds on Sunday, 16 March at 6 pm at the Haus der Musik in Innsbruck. Conductor Michael Hölbling will open his last spring concert together with the Bundesbahn-Musikkapelle Innsbruck with a literally fascinating fanfare by Otto M. Schwarz. In addition to taking part in the ORF Brass Music Prize in June, the guest performance at the Haus der Musik is one of the orchestra's musical highlights this year. The Fascination Fanfare is followed by the equally breathtaking suite from the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet in an arrangement by Clark McAlister & Alfred Reed. The Prelude, Aragonaise and co. will leave many a dance-loving audience member sitting uneasily in the stands, as many music fans are familiar with the opera's thrilling melodies. The programme continues in a similarly danceable style with the Kaiserwalzer and the fast polka Auf der Jagd. On the occasion of the 200th birthday of Johann Strauss Sohn, the performance of these and other of his works pays well-deserved tribute to the outstanding 19th century Austrian composer. The audience will not be able to sit back for long afterwards, as the orchestra will present another fiery highlight of the concert with Danzón No. 2 by Arturo Márquez, in which the composer's Mexican roots are reflected in every note.
