The theme “Being and Appearance” runs through the dance season and culminates in the dazzling production *Gold*, the final show at the Kammerspiele. In it, Marcel Leemann reflects on the superficiality—and even deception—that can arise from outward beauty and ostentatious wealth, and whose dark sides can lead to loneliness and isolation. Ranging from gentle to combative, the dancers take a critical look behind the facades—in search of the true fulfillment that might lie hidden behind them. Through the interplay of music, set design, and costumes, a dance piece emerges—shimmering yet garish, exaggerated yet touching—that juxtaposes peer pressure and personal values, as well as conformity and individuality, and seeks to unmask illusory worlds.

Lower Austrian musician Matthias Jakisic knows how to amplify emotions and convey feelings through his music. His album *Fragmente*, released in 2022, provides the musical foundation for the dance performance. Jakisic has contributed to countless CD productions and composed theater music for venues including the Burgtheater in Vienna and the Salzburg Festival. *Gold* marks his first collaboration with the Tyrolean State Theater.
