Gold

The theme “Being and Appearance” runs through the dance season and culminates in the dazzling production *Gold*, the final show at the Kammerspiele. In it, Marcel Leemann reflects on the superficiality—even deception—that can arise from outward beauty and ostentatious wealth, and whose dark sides can mean loneliness and isolation. Ranging from gentle to combative, the dancers venture a critical look behind facades—in search of the true fulfillment that might lie hidden behind them. Through the interplay of music, stage, and costumes, a dance piece emerges that ranges from shimmering to garish, from exaggerated to touching, juxtaposing peer pressure and personal values as well as conformity and individuality, and attempting to expose illusory worlds.

Lower Austrian musician Matthias Jakisic knows how to amplify emotions and convey feelings through his music. His album Fragmente, released in 2022, provides the musical foundation for the dance evening. Jakisic has been involved in countless CD productions and has composed theater music for, among others, the Burgtheater in Vienna and the Salzburg Festival. For Gold , he is working at the Tyrolean State Theater for the first time.
