HDM in Concert: Werner Pirchner Prize 2024

For the drith time, the province of Tyrol (Tiroler Landeskonservatorium - TLK) is awarding the renowned Werner Pirchner Prize in cooperation with the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW). This is an international competition for wind instruments, which is awarded annually in two categories. This year in the clarinet and horn categories. Immediately after the concert, the eagerly awaited award ceremony will be held by the jury chairs Barbara Strack-Hanisch (MDW) and Erich Rinner (TLK). Last year, 61 soloists from 22 nations took part in the preliminary rounds of the competition. From 2022 - 2023, Norwin Hahn (solo trombonist in the hr-Sinfonieorchester, Germany), Filippo Lombardi (trumpet, Italy) and Andreas Mader (saxophone, Austria) emerged as winners of the Werner Pirchner Prize with their outstanding performances. The prizewinners will present themselves to the audience as soloists at the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck's "Wunschkonzert" on April 4, 2025.
