HDM in Concert: Werner Pirchner Prize 2026

2026 is a special year: For the fifth time, the Tyrolean State Conservatory, in cooperation with the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), will award the prestigious Werner Pirchner Prize. In this anniversary year, the international competition for wind instruments will be held in the categories of oboe and wind chamber music. Following the highly successful competitions held since 2022, the distinguished jury of experts will have the task this year of reviewing application videos through early June and selecting the best ensembles and oboists for the second round (semifinals). The semifinals will take place on November 3, 2026, with free admission, in the concert hall of the Tyrolean State Conservatory, Paul-Hofhaimer-Gasse 6, 6020 Innsbruck. The grand finale will be held on November 5, 2026, at the Haus der Musik Innsbruck, where the prizes will also be awarded afterward.
