Irreparable
Francis, a sensitive poet with multiple sclerosis, and Icarus, the paraplegic big shot, couldn't be more different, and yet—or perhaps because of this—they become best friends. Together they dream of growing up: drinking, smoking, picking up women. But when Ikarus falls in love with a girl, he has to face reality and his disability. This also puts his friendship with Francis to the test...
Sergej Gößner's Irreparabel is a play about two lovable outsiders, full of humor and empathy. In flashbacks, Francis and Ikarus try to figure out how to overcome the agonizing gap between self-perception and reality. The special formal appeal of the play lies in the fact that all the characters are played by Ikarus and Francis, making the storytelling just as important as the story itself.
It has won several awards, including the STELLA*18 for outstanding production for young people.
"Based on a magnificent and witty text, 'Irreparable' managesto bringto the stage a quiet, unexcited, yet touching and captivating coming-of-age story about an unlikely friendship , reduced to high-class spoken theater ."
