Is anybody home?

I live behind this door, right?
And is that my key?
Is anyone home?
Okay, I’m going in now…

In the new interactive live-film production by the German-English performance collective Gob Squad, empathy and the desire to share others’ experiences are put to an extreme test. Every evening, the performers swap places on stage with young guests from Innsbruck, who are invited to become part of a film set in their own apartment. So while the guests sit on stage, Gob Squad is at their home. A film unfolds live before their eyes, in which the boundaries of privacy and ownership are continually negotiated, where people sleep in strangers’ beds and bodies are taken over. Where do you begin, and where do I end?

At the same time, images of another body appear on a fairy-tale-like quest through the city streets. What is a home beyond four walls? Where do we find the opening in the membrane of the private sphere to forge connections rather than draw divisions? Where can we come together? In the theater? In a stranger’s home? In my body? In our thoughts? On the street? Is anybody home?
