Jazz im HDM: HDM Contemporary Jazz Orchestra

The HDM Contemporary Jazz Orchestra brings together freelance musicians, faculty, and students from Innsbruck, Tyrol, and beyond to form a flexible ensemble for jazz and contemporary music projects at the Haus der Musik Innsbruck. The lineup remains flexible, while a core group of faculty members from the Tyrolean State Conservatory and the Mozarteum University ensures artistic continuity. Depending on the program, guest soloists or ensemble members join the orchestra.

Following its highly acclaimed exploration of monumental works such as Charles Mingus’s *Epitaph* and the world premiere of Wolfgang Mitterer’s *437 Hertz* , the ensemble continues its focus on contemporary jazz, large-scale works, and experimental soundscapes. Under its new name, the orchestra presents itself as a platform for ambitious projects at the intersection of jazz, improvisation, and contemporary music.
