KLAVIER & CO: Jazzpiano Solo II

Born in 1965, the Austrian jazz pianist Christian Wegscheider studied in Graz and New York, worked intensively in the jazz scene but also with Willy Resetarits and the Pepe Lienhard Big Band and now teaches jazz piano at the Mozarteum University. As a pianist and organist, he performs successfully all over the world, from Vienna to Barcelona to Ottawa. He is also a frequent author of music books. As a versatile composer, he writes for jazz bands and big bands and has released a number of his own albums. Christian Wegscheider has also written orchestral and chamber music for classical ensembles, in particular pieces for jazz trio and orchestra. He is currently working on a piano concerto.
