Piano & Co: Prof. Ebert Piano Competition

The Prof. Dr. Kurt Ebert Foundation for Science and Music awarded a prize for young pianists for the first time as part of a piano competition. Ebert is not only professor emeritus of the Institute for Roman Law and Legal History at the Leopold Franzens University of Innsbruck, but also studied piano in his younger years at the former Vienna Academy of Music and Performing Arts in the class of Prof. Bruno Seidlhofer and has continued to perform publicly alongside his work at the university ever since. The competition took place on October 18, 2024, in the concert hall of the Tyrolean State Conservatory. The winner, Sophie Neeb, studied with Sebastian Euler at the Tyrolean State Conservatory and has already won several competitions in a piano duo with her brother Vincent. Since then, they have performed regularly in renowned concert halls and at prestigious festivals. Their debut album "Déjà-rêvé" was released on the Audite label and was nominated for the German Record Critics' Award.
