 Aufschnaiter:in A musical docudrama Benedikt Anton Aufschnaiter was a baroque composer from Kitzbühel who travelled from Kitzbühel via Vienna to Passau, where he worked at the episcopal court as Kapellmeister and court composer. His marriage was so unhappy that his wife, Maria Barbara von Salla, wrote a letter to the bishop asking for the marriage to be annulled, but to no avail. The life of Aufschnaiter and his relationship with his wife is the subject of a musical docudrama set to music by Christof Dienz, also from Kitzbühel and a composer. Christof Dienz has produced a kind of mash-up of his music and that of Aufschnaiter. The baroque music of Aufschnaiter and the music of Dienz, played by the ensemble Die Knoedel, blend into a whole, they are juxtaposed, they are superimposed, there are hard breaks and moments that flow into one another. Aufschnaiter is played by Tyrolean actor Harald Windisch, well known from film and television. Aufschnaiter's wife, von Salla, is played by Anna Hauf, a singer from Vienna who has made a name for herself primarily in contemporary music. The libretto is by Tyrolean lyricist and writer Christoph W. Bauer, and the production is directed by Thomas Gassner, also from Tyrol and known far beyond the country's borders with his ensemble Feinripp. The idea for this production came from Aufschnaiter expert and researcher Hans Gasteiger. https://www.hungerburgtheater.com/ The event takes place outdoors.
