Poetry Slam meets Orchestra

We’ve seen time and again in our “Poetry Slam Meets Orchestra ” series that poetry slam and symphony orchestras are something of a “perfect match.” This October, we’ll celebrate Ludwig van Beethoven and his groundbreaking music in this unique concert. Combined with fresh texts by Katrin ohne h, Leo Dravoj, and Emil Kaschka, and hosted by the man who ignited the passion for spoken-word art in this country over 20 years ago—the “language installer” Markus Köhle. A true symphony of poetry awaits us—and, as always, a linguistic and musical celebration! The Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Marc Reibel, will perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2, with additional timbres provided by specially composed jingles from Mr. Klangkantine Ralph Mothwurf and TSOI cellist and composer Julian Walkner.

And there’s a special treat for everyone at the concert on Friday, October 9: the three under-20 poetry slammers—Johanna Buchegger, Lara Wieser, and Jonathan Fischler—will take the stage themselves after the concert for a late-night slam in the foyer. Slam, man!
