RADIKAL ALT - Play development

"I'm fading, I'm fading.

See how I'm fading."
(Die Goldenen Zitronen)

RADIKAL ALT is a polyphonic play about aging women in a society that treats youth as capital and constantly judges female bodies. Three women stand on stage—aged 40, 60, and 70—and discuss their bodies, their biographies, their shame, their anger, their lust, and their fear of disappearing.

RADIKAL ALT asks why aging is still treated as an individual flaw for women and not as a social reality. Why women are “made old” while men simply grow older. Why anti-aging is taken for granted, but finitude remains taboo.

RADIKAL ALT is not a story about aging with dignity. It is an imposition. A declaration of war. Here, aging becomes a radical practice: loud, rebellious, funny, shameless, sad, and lustful at the same time. An evening about bodies in transition – and about the political dimension of growing older.
