Georg Kimball is a man in his prime, married, lives in a comfortable house and has good friends in the neighbourhood. A confirmed hypochondriac, he has a different ailment every day. It doesn't take long before Georg is firmly convinced that he is seriously ill. In his grief, he is convinced that his wife will have major problems in life without him. So he sets out to find a new husband for the soon-to-be widow. His friend and neighbour, Arnold Nash, is there to help and advise him during this supposedly difficult time. It doesn't take long for the entanglements to take their course.
