TSOI Laboratorium

A CONSPIRATORIAL HOUR FOR THE CURIOUS FOLLOWED BY A VISIT TO A TSOI REHEARSAL

A piece of music is a pure wonder per se. It can and should be enjoyed as such. But is it no less exciting to look beyond it and learn more about it?

We invite you to take a deeper look along the major thematic worlds of opera and concerts in the 24/25 season: Dare to take a look behind the scenes and composing rooms together with experts. Let your thoughts wander far afield and yet land so close to the realm of the arts.

On selected dates, you can spend an hour together over water and wine. Afterwards, there is an optional one-hour rehearsal visit to the respective TSOI symphony concert.

there are plenty of (fallen) heroes in film & television, in music & theater. What attracts authors and composers so much about them? And when does reality catch up with them and the game becomes bitterly serious? For us today, however, the composers of immortal works are also heroes. 2024 is littered with anniversaries. The music world is celebrating Anton Bruckner, Bedřich Smetana, Arnold Schönberg, Richard Strauss, Ferruccio Busoni, Luigi Nono and Giacomo Puccini, to name but a few. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the premiere of Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 on May 7, 1824, this anniversary cult will be highlighted.

TSOI LAB: MUSIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR BROKEN HEARTS

Gerti Senger Psychotherapist, expert in sex therapy and psychologist

Of course there is self-love. A good dose of it has never done anyone any harm. But we all know how it ended with Narcissus... That's why love between people is much more exciting, opening up an infinite universe of happiness and, unfortunately, catastrophes. It is also the world of music that can only live on air and love - and how! The most famous lovers in music (theater) literature are as glorious as they are tragic: Romeo and Juliet, Tristan and Isolde, Gretchen & Faust, Princess Werdenberg & Sophie & Octavian, Tatjana & Onegin are the ones we suffer with most this season. What can we take away from these love stories? What is behind all the slights, excesses and deadly frenzies? Is there hope for us (really unhappy lovers)? The answer is: yes. If anyone can find a way out, it's Gerti Senger.
