In the exhibition Victoria Square Is Not a Metaphor, Nicolas Cilins addresses the question of how bodies under constant control and exclusion can manifest their presence in public space. Based on the stories of young male migrant sex workers and a network of secret night bars around Victoria Square in Athens, the multimedia installation tells of survival, resistance, community, and representation that transcend the specific local context and claim universal validity. The exhibition Victoria Square Is Not a Metaphor is part of the annual program Under Pressure, curated by Bettina Siegele.
