VORBRENNER: Buy yourself a sofa

An interdisciplinary performance that combines social criticism, artistic expression, and personal experiences. Traditional gender roles are questioned with provocative questions such as “What is a woman?” and “What makes a life worth living?” The sofa—a central element of the performance—serves as a symbol: transformation, longing for security, and connectedness are negotiated on this abstract piece of furniture. The latent memories that the performers associate with their tias (aunts) appear in the form of coins hidden in the cracks of the sofa, which are now used to reshape the future.
