Forest meets city

The forest in the centre of the city - an experience for all the senses
The Tyrolean Forestry Association is bringing the forest to Waltherpark for the big Forest Festival to mark Forest Week 2025 - and invites you to experience it in a special way in the centre of the city.
There is plenty to discover, taste, learn - and simply enjoy - at four varied stations:
Tranquillity & Thought Space
Switch off, take a deep breath, immerse yourself: Comfortable loungers invite you to immerse yourself in fascinating forest images. A forest floor path brings the feeling of a real forest walk into the park. Anyone who wants to can write down thoughts, wishes or messages about the forest - and inspire others to think about it.
Forest knowledge & interactive quiz
How old can a spruce tree grow? Who lives in dead wood? At this station there is knowledge to marvel at: with a quiz, wood memory and exciting information directly from the forest experts. Whether young or old - everyone learns something new here.
Forest with all your senses
What does moss feel like? What does fresh forest soil smell like? This station invites children and adults to explore the forest in a playful way - with all their senses, creatively and with forest education.
We will be spoilt with culinary delights from the Woodys Food Truck with a variety of products from the forest.
