International Women's Day: Book presentation "125 Years of Medical Studies for Women in Austria."

Women have been able to study medicine in Austria for 125 years. Author and journalist Dr.Birgit Kofler-Bettschart has compiled historically significant documents on this topic in her book, highlighting the obstacles and difficulties female doctors faced at the time, as well as their outstanding work and achievements. She also spoke with doctors and professors from the Medical University of Vienna, the Medical University of Graz, and the Medical University of Innsbruck, among others. The results of the interviews are also included in her book. Following the book presentation, the panel discussion will examine the challenges currently faced by women in leadership positions in academic medicine from different perspectives and discuss the opportunities associated with these challenges.
