Wings for Life World Run 2026

The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, participants run, roll or walk side by side ahead of the virtual Catcher Car. The race starts on 10 May 2026 at exactly 13:00:00. The virtual Catcher Car starts 30 minutes after the start at a speed of 14 km/h and increases its speed constantly until the last participant has been caught up. 100% of the donations and entry fees go directly to spinal cord research projects.
Running route:
The start is located on Europaratsallee near the Innsbruck Hofgarten, and the event area is located at Landestheaternebenplatz – just a few steps away.
The route leads from the Landestheater along Rennweg towards the south and continues along Universitätsstraße towards the east, where it turns around at the Jesuit Church. It then heads back towards the Landestheater, past the event area and into the Hofgarten – for runners through the park, for wheelchair users via the barrier-free route back to Europaratsallee.
The route is approximately 2 kilometres long for runners and approximately 1 kilometre long for the accessible route.
