Wissen|schaf(f)t Gesundheit: Understanding the menopause and shaping it yourself

"Wissen|schaf(f)t Gesundheit" is a series of lectures organized by the Medical University of Innsbruck. Doctors and researchers present the current state of research to an interested public in an understandable way.
One million women in Austria are currently going through the menopause - a phase of life that can bring with it severe physical and psychological symptoms. The symptoms vary from person to person, are often stressful and can even affect women without symptoms, as the hormonal changes increase the risk of diseases such as osteoporosis, dementia and cardiovascular diseases.
In her lecture, Bettina Toth not only looks at the physical and emotional challenges of the menopause, but also its positive aspects, such as more personal freedom and a new body awareness. She shows why knowledge, education and individual treatment are so important - especially for professional life, where exhaustion can reduce performance. In her lecture, the Director of the University Clinic for Gynecological Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine will provide well-founded insights, dispel myths and show ways in which women can actively and informedly go through the menopause.
Free admission, no registration required, admission from 18:00 in the main lecture hall (Audimax). The lecture can also be followed via livestream.
