5 May is the day of remembrance against violence and racism in memory of the victims of National Socialism. On this day, a city walk will take place in Innsbruck as part of the WORTDENKMAL project, which is being realised as part of the gedenk_potenziale 2024 initiative. The project focuses on four three-dimensional word monuments - RESEARCH, CULTURE, PROVOCATION and MARBLING - each of which tells a story from the National Socialist era. By linking these stories with specific locations in Innsbruck, the artists Christine and Andreas Pavlic aim to raise awareness of both the victims and the perpetrators and encourage a comprehensive social debate. The guided tour of these word monuments offers the opportunity to immerse oneself in the stories behind each monument and to reflect together on their significance for our time.
