Wurlitzer concert
Choral Music on Demand 80 Years of the Walther von der Vogelweide Chamber Choir
A choral concert where the program is created spontaneously by the audience itself? That is exactly what the Walther von der Vogelweide Chamber Choir offers loyal and new fans on March 6, 2026, at the Gasthof Bierstindl. Under the title “Choral Music on Demand,” the renowned amateur ensemble kicks off its anniversary year with a “Wurlitzer concert.”
Under the direction of Alexandra Milborn, songs from 80 years of choral history will be performed—from the unofficial Vogelweide anthem “Innsbruck, ich muss dich lassen” to medieval drinking songs and romantic love songs, all the way to the apocalyptic “Feuerreiter.”
Audience members may choose from works by Distler, di Lasso, Elgar, Haßler, Isaak, Langner, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann, and others. Those who wish and feel able are even invited to conduct their chosen favorite piece themselves.
Admission: voluntary donations
