3. Harp Biennale Innsbruck
3rd Harp Biennale Innsbruck
Concerts, workshops, lectures, a competition, and an installation
Indescribably Feminine?!
A homage to women and femmes in music.
For the third time, the Harp Biennale Innsbruck invites you to listen to voices that have too often been unheard — composers, musicians, thinkers. Early music meets contemporary works, folk songs meet political texts, mystical vespers meet saxophone solos. What happens when nuns speak alongside feminists? When a trio of female voices encounters the rare salterio? When baroque harp and saxophone suddenly sound like a single voice? When a sound installation makes the city resonate? The Harp Biennale takes the liberty of making such questions audible.
And it also surprises in its format: a charming breakfast concert, workshops offered for the first time, a young artists’ competition, a sound installation in front of the Haus der Musik, as well as world and Austrian premieres. The festival opens spaces where the history of music is retold — profound, unexpected, and with an irrepressible joy in dialogue.
