At the heart of this concert is a whimsical silent film score for Ernst Lubitsch's ‘Die Puppe’ (The Doll), newly set to music by Martin Smolka. Smolka's soundtrack mixes tools of new music such as microtones with ironic details, fast-paced and playful like the film itself. The programme is complemented by Daniele Ghisi's weather-sensitive crescendo ‘Black Rain’ as an Austrian premiere and a world premiere for string orchestra by Sara Glojnarić, one of the most sought-after young composers of the moment. konsTellation plus promotes talented performers of contemporary music in cooperation with the Tyrolean State Conservatory.
