Lecture series - Acute and chronic diseases and injuries

Prof. Dr. Rohit Arora
Director, University Clinic for Orthopaedics and Traumatology
Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria
The lecture deals with acute and chronic diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system and shows how targeted medical and rehabilitative interventions can contribute to the reduction of disabilities and limitations. In addition to clinical aspects, psychosocial consequences, prevention and innovative therapeutic approaches will also be highlighted. Perception and care are critically discussed. Pain, restricted movement, muscle wasting, incorrect strain and psychosocial consequences such as depression, isolation and unemployment can lead to disability in conjunction with additional environmental factors. The aim is to show ways in which the participation and quality of life of injured people can be primarily improved or sustainably strengthened.
