Wissen|schaf(f)t Gesundheit: Prevention and therapy for sports injuries

"Wissen|schaf(f)t Gesundheit" is a series of lectures organized by the Medical University of Innsbruck. Doctors and researchers present the current state of research to an interested public in an understandable way.
How can typical sports injuries such as cruciate ligament ruptures be avoided? From warm-up to compression - what really helps with regeneration? And when is the right time for an artificial joint? In his lecture, Felix Riechelmann sheds light on the possibilities for preventing and treating injuries, joint problems and joint wear and tear according to the latest scientific findings.
The expert from the University Clinic for Orthopaedics and Traumatology places a particular focus on injuries to the knee joint. He explains how these can be avoided through prevention and the differences between conservative and surgical treatment. He also explains treatment options for long-term consequences, such as post-traumatic osteoarthritis. Practical tips and understandable insights make this lecture exciting for sports enthusiasts and osteoarthritis sufferers.
Free admission, no registration required, admission from 18:00 in the main lecture hall (Audimax). The lecture can also be followed via livestream.
