Lecture series - Occupational therapy and long-term care

Ines Nagiller BSc, MSc
Teaching and Research, FH Bachelor's degree program Occupational Therapy
fhg - Center for Health Professions Tyrol GmbH
The lecture on "Gender and diversity aspects: Occupational therapy and long-term care in the everyday lives of people with disabilities" highlights key aspects such as participation and inclusion, promoting independence in everyday life and the provision of assistive devices. A special focus is placed on a resource-oriented and client-centered approach that takes gender-specific and individual needs into account. In an interprofessional context, occupational therapy and (long-term) care help to break down barriers and promote self-determination. Recognizing the diversity and dignity of clients enables holistic care that includes not only functional, but also cultural and social dimensions.
